AWANA (FOR 2 YEARS OLD- 5TH GRADE)
Awana on wednesdays 6:30-8:00pm!
The acronym “AWANA” comes from the first letters of the phrase, “Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed” (2 Timothy 2:15). Awana believes that children are most receptive to the Gospel when they are young and that children’s ministry is the richest mission field in the church. Awana meets weekly and consists on three segments: Game time, Small Group time, and Large Group time. Each child will receive a handbook and wear a uniform to club every week.
Awana Clubs are divided into four age groups: Puggles (1-2 year olds), Cubbies
(preschool ministry for 3 and 4 year olds), Sparks (K-2nd Grade), and
Truth & Training (3rd–5th grade). There is a one-time fee of $15 for
uniform and Awana handbook. Financial assistance is available if needed.
Puggles is an enriching program for your younger children (usually 1 year old - younger 3-year-old) that presents these basic biblical concepts: We are a unique creation of God & God loves us very much. Awana Puggles teaches toddlers simple lessons through teaching cards, activities, music and more. Awana Puggles' leaders have a guidebook to help them plan and direct club time and communicate the lesson. Then parents—as Awana Puggle’s first and best teacher—can step in to reinforce the lessons with take-home cards that include ideas to point out God’s work each day. And little details like Awana Puggles T-shirts, puzzles and coloring books make every precious child feel like part of the group.
Cubbies for preschoolers (3 & 4 year old) is built on two premises: (1) Young children can and should receive spiritual training & (2) Home is the primary place for spiritual training. Our preschool program meets these needs through …Fun – and lots of it! Cubbies is fun with a purpose – to reach and train kids for Jesus Christ. Games, puppets, crafts, awards and other activities transform our preschool program into a lively weekly experience where fun and learning go hand in hand.
Sparks is designed for Kindergarten, 1st & 2nd grades. Sparks includes a fun firefly character named Sparky. Sparky and friends lead the children through the ranks of the Skipper, Hiker, and Climber handbooks. Sparks encourages and motivates clubbers through handbook achievements, game and craft. The handbooks include Bible memorization and Bible centered activities. Sparks wear red vests with accompanying awards.
T&T is for 3rd, 4th and 5th graders, and divided by age and gender. The handbooks for this age group teach Bible memorization and life application. They attend a special worship time once a quarter geared to personal/spiritual growth. Clubbers also attend game time. These club members wear a green t-shirt with a badge to place awards.
