"THE VINE" NEWSLETTER
F.L.O.W. - FAMILY LIFE ON WEDNESDAYS @ 6:30 PM
Everyone is invited to our Family Life On Wednesdays (F.L.O.W.) at 6:30 p.m. This includes our Awana children's program, our youth Counter Culture and an adult Community Group (going through the "What On Earth Am I Here For" study). We hope you will make plans to attend and bring somebody with you.
Pastor Miguel is preaching a Sunday series entitled "In Birmingham As It Is In Heaven". Over the next couple of months, he will be covering many of the distinctives of what the Vineyard is all about. You can hear it under our Media tab. We hope you and your family will be here to hear these messages. This is also a great time to invite friends, neighbors, co-workers, etc. because we have a "new pastor". So even invite people who you've invited before to come check us out. THIS SUNDAY'S MESSAGE: Worshippers of God
Our college and career group is beginning to meet again on a new day and time - Sunday nights at 6:30 p.m. They meet offsite near Spain Park High School at the home of Jonathan and Jessica Bush (1817 Kirkman Cove, B'ham 35242). Rich and Lynda Saito will be helping to facilitate the group. So please keep get the word out and come check them out if you are college age or young career.
PARENT MEETING - OCT. 8 AFTER SERVICE
Our Children's Pastor Jason Daggett would like to have a short time with all the parents to share his vision, dreams and needs for the future of IVC Children's Ministry. This will take place on Sunday, Oct. 8th immediately after service for less than 30 minutes in the Student Center.
DISASTER RELIEF FOR THE HURRICANE VICTIMS IN texas & Florida
As you've seen, both Hurricane Harvey and Hurrican Irma have caused catastrophic damage to Southeast Texas, Florida and several Caribbean islands with record-breaking rainfall that forced thousands of families to flee their homes in search of shelter. Vineyard USA's official disaster relief partner is called Convoy Of Hope. They are already in the Houston area and parts of Florida helping the relief effort by providing emergency supplies and food. If you would like to give towards this, you may do so through online giving, check, envelope, etc. by designating "DISASTER RELIEF". We are sending a check for $642 to Convoy of Hope this week from the money we have collected so far. We also know that some of you might be interested in going with a team from our church to help the Vineyard response in these areas. Once we determine if we can go, who can go and the where and when, we will publicize those dates. If you would like to hear more about this, please email us and we will help get the folks interested in this together.
Our annual Christmas production is entitled "A Very Merry Vineyard Christmas". The goal is to provide a holiday-themed family event that people will feel comfortable inviting their family, friends, neighbors and co-workers to. It will share the Gospel in a unique way and there is an opportunity given for people to accept Christ. This year it will be an updated version of last year's theme of "Home Is Where The Heart Is". It involves acting, set design, music for kids and adults, dancing, choreography, stage help, media, etc. This year, it will take place on Sunday night, Dec. 17th. It requires a lot of volunteers to make it a success. If you would like to help in one of these areas, please email us here and tell us what you might be interested in.
DIVORCECARE & DC4K - MOnday nights @ 6:00 PM
DivorceCare is a national program that involves a weekly support group and seminar conducted by people who understand the effects of divorce on you and your children and extended family. They will help you deal with the pain of the past and help the process of rebuilding your life. This fall's course will be here on Monday nights from 6:00 to 8:30 p.m. They started August 14. There will also be childcare this time offered up to age 4 and a DivorceCare For Kids (DC4K) for ages 5-12. This group helps your children deal with the pain of divorce and gives a safe, neutral place to share their feelings. For more information, go here for adults and here for children.
NOON PRAYER - WEEKDAYS
We are still having times of refreshing in the Lord's presence each weekday at noon in the downstairs of the Student Center. Some of our Pastoral Staff and Elders facilitate this hour of prayer that has been going now for over 5 years. We usually begin each time with worship and setting our heart and mind on the Lord. Please come if you need something from the Lord or just want to pray with others concerning whatever is on the Lord's heart each day.
CELEBRATE RECOVERY - TUESDAYS AT 6:30 PM
