FLOW = Family Life On Wednesdays. Adults and youth will begin in the Main Auditorium with worship. Then the youth will leave to go to their own group downstairs in the Student Center. Adults will stay for small group discussion of the study called "The Insanity of Obedience". We will also be having Awana in the Student Center upstairs for children. "The Anointings" class with Jim Mellard is in the office area. And our Young Adults group meets at the home of Jonathan & Jessica Bush (1817 Kirkman Cove, B'ham 35242). There's something for the whole family available on Wednesdays @ IVC!

POCKETS OF PRAYER - call leaders TO participate

We recently completed 21 Days of Worship, Prayer & Fasting. We are now forming Pockets of Prayer throughout the Birmingham are that are not centralized through the church. The focus of this is our pastoral transition. We realize that the majority of people who attend our church can't come to Noon Prayer due to jobs, time restraints and how far away it is in distance. We believe that there are many people who would like to pray with others in their own area and at more convenient times. If you would like to join the POP and facilitate a prayer time in your area, please contact the church office with the information of where and when. It could morning, afternoon or night. It could be at your home, at Starbucks, at the park, on the phone, etc. It might just be 10 minutes. This could be once or weekly. Our prayer focuses are: Pastor Bubba & Melany, our church, the Pastoral Search Team, our staff and the new pastor (whoever that is).

Here are the current POP:
Sundays @ 9:15 a.m. - Church Offices with Donnie Williams   205-542-4336
Wednesdays @ 12:00 noon - On the phone with Angela Grant   205-215-3205
Thursdays @ 6:30 p.m. - Their house in Pelham with Jerry & Sue Frolander   205-663-6940
Fridays @ 6:00 p.m. - Their house in Eastlake with Giang & Leah Leisch   205-492-1222

last call for easter instrumentalists

If you have and play a woodwind, string or brass instrument and can read charts, we'd love to have you join our Easter "orchestra". We're having rehearsals. Please contact Steve for more information.

ivc t-shirts are ordered - please bring payment

We have ordered new gray IVC t-shirts that have our church logo on the front and our mission statement on the back. The cost is $5/child and $8/adult. If you made an order, please pay for it during the month of March if possible. You can pay in the offering or online by designating "shirt". We have ordered extra shirts that will also be available for purchase. These will first be used for our Easter Community ServeFest on Wednesday, April 12th.

We are planning our 15th Annual Easter ServeFest on Wednesday night, April 12th. This is a way for us to reach out and show God's love in practical ways to people in our community and give them an invitation to our church for Easter. This will hopefully again include a gas buydown, free Subway sandwiches and all kinds of giveaways on Valleydale Rd., outside of Walmart, at Veterans Park and at the Hoover sports fields. We will have a place for you to sign up out in the lobby THIS SUNDAY. We want to see how many people will commit to serve that night so we'll know how many outreaches to plan. Last Sunday, we received over $600 in donations towards the $1200 goal for this event. You can donate by check, envelope or online by designating "EASTER SERVEFEST".

We are privileged to host this national program here at IVC. Are you currently divorced but having problems? Are you separated or thinking about divorce? Do you have a friend you would like to help in these circumstances? Are there children having adjustment issues? Come be a part of this effective program that is helping many people walk through these difficult circumstances. Classes take place from 1:30-3:30 p.m. in the downstairs of the Student Center. For more info or to register, please go to this page on our website.

We are having some special times of refreshing in the Lord's presence each weekday at noon in the downstairs of the Student Center. Some of our Pastoral Staff and Elders facilitate this hour of prayer that has been going now for over 5 years. We begin each day with worship and setting our heart and mind on the Lord. Please come if you need something from the Lord or just want to pray with others concerning whatever is on the Lord's heart each day.

Our church is honored to host the North Shelby group in the Student Center on Tuesday nights at 6:30 p.m. Celebrate Recovery (CR) is a Biblically balanced program designed to help people overcome their hurts, hang-ups and habits. It is based on the New Testament principle that we need others in order to get well emotionally and spiritually. CR is now in over 20,000 churches around the world. Come check it out and see what Celebrate Recovery is all about. They begin each week at 6:00 p.m. with food and fellowship and then at 6:30 have worship, large group teaching and break out into small groups.
